Mark Spencer Hotel - Playful Boutique Hotel with Historic Touches

Mark Spencer Hotel in Downtown Portland, OR

Mark Spencer is perfectly situated where the West End and The Pearl meet, centrally located to some of the best food, pubs and attractions in PDX. This two-wing, sandy brick building built in 1907 was once called Nortonia Hotel; close to the theatre district it was the hotel mecca for all arts, theatre and performers. Those remnants are definitely felt throughout the hotel with touches of artifacts on the walls that hug the hallways of this six floor property.

Steve and I visited Portland at the end of September for two nights and we were satisfied with our accommodations at Mark Spencer.  The location is incomparable, it's clean, feels safe and booming with bustling great food and entertainment options! My favorite nearby places were definitely, Jake's Famous CrawfishHeart Coffee and Powell's Books. All within walking distance to Mark Spencer Hotel.

The Front Desk staff was incredibly accommodating and even surprised us with a bottle of red wine and sweets for my birthday! Although a 3-star hotel, one of the greatest perks of staying in a boutique hotel is the attention they pay to detail and hospitality.

With nine classes of rooms, Mark Spencer can accommodate any guest! Next time you're in Rose City, give them a try!
