Staycation in the City
My favorite hotel and restaurant in LA were found in Downtown Los Angeles this year. In the hustle and bustle of daily life, sometimes the best escape is found right in the city's heart. As a fervent lover of staycations, my retreat to The Hoxton in downtown Los Angeles was nothing short of an experience. Join me on a journey through this urban oasis, where contemporary comfort meets city sophistication.
A Stylish Welcome. From the moment I stepped into The Hoxton's lobby, I was greeted by an ambiance that perfectly balanced style and warmth. The modern decor, infused with touches of timeless elegance and familiar cultural decor, set the tone for an unforgettable stay. The check-in process was seamless, and the staff's friendly demeanor instantly made me feel at home.
Choosing the perfect room for a staycation is crucial, and The Hoxton did not disappoint! Our room was a haven of comfort, featuring tasteful furnishings, plush bedding, and large windows that framed the cityscape. It was the ideal space to unwind and recharge, offering a retreat within the vibrant energy of downtown LA.
No staycation is complete without indulging in exceptional cuisine, and The Hoxton's signature restaurant, Cabra, exceeded all expectations. In fact, it is one of the two top restaurants I ate at in 2023. Each dish was a culinary journey, with a menu that seamlessly blended local flavors and Peruvian inspirations. The vibrant atmosphere, rooftop, and attentive service added a layer of enjoyment to this dining experience.
My dining experience at Cabra Los Angeles was a symphony of flavors, each dish meticulously crafted to tantalize the taste buds. The menu boasts a delightful array of options, from small plates perfect for sharing to entrées that showcase chef Stephanie Izard's culinary prowess. A particular highlight was the Wood-Fire Skirt Steak (Lomos Saltado), which seamlessly blended textures and tastes in a way that left a lasting impression.
The Hoxton Hotel and Cabra Los Angeles restaurant (located on the rooftop of The Hoxton) in downtown LA is more than just a place to stay and dine; it's an experience that fuses creativity, craftsmanship, and culinary excellence. From the first bite to the final toast, these two leave an indelible mark on your palate and memory. If you're seeking a dining adventure that transcends the ordinary, set your sights on Cabra—a culinary gem in the heart of the City of Angels.
